6 indoor games with Stapelstein and beanbags

The biggest toy hit of the past few months has been the sensory bean bags that match Stapelstein . Stapelstein has been a favorite in our house for a year and a half. But when I made matching bean bags for the kids, they were used even more intensively. Especially now that it's raining more often, we're coming up with active indoor games to get them moving. These are our favorite games with Stapelstein and rainbow bean bags.
1. Sort bean bags by color
Obvious, but so much fun! Sorting beanbags by color! A great game for ages 2 and up. New to this game? Set your child up for success and start with 3 colors. Is this easy? Then add new colors to the game.
2. Hide, find and sort beanbags
Place the Stapelstein stones in a circle in the middle of the room. One player closes their eyes, and the other player hides the beanbags in the living room. Once the beanbags are hidden, the other player can search for them. If you find one beanbag, place it in the corresponding Stapelstein.
Bonus tip: For our toddler, I place the bags in plain sight. For our preschooler, I can hide them out of sight. Adjust the difficulty level to your child's level. Set them up for success ;-).

3. Throwing with Stapelstein and a bean bag
Throwing games remain a favorite here, but our toddler could use a more challenging one. So we created a more challenging version for throwing beanbags. Each of you takes your favorite colored Stapelstein. One of you places a beanbag in their Stapelstein. The goal is to "flip" the beanbag back and forth between the two, and the other catches it in their Stapelstein.
4. Oops, Mom (or Dad) made a mistake
My toddler bursts into laughter when we play this game. She hands me the beanbags, and I put them in the wrong colors. Giggling, she helps me make the right combinations. By laughing together and showing that making mistakes is okay, I find this a wonderfully connecting game.

5. Stop dance on Stapelstein with the bean bags
Put on your favorite music. Make a circle of Stapelsteins and an empty basket (or confetti rock) in the center. Place the correct beanbags on the outside of the circle near the Stapelstein. Then the game can begin. As long as the music plays, walk in circles over the Stapelsteins. When the music stops, pick up the beanbag by your feet and place it in the middle basket. Start walking again when the music starts. Continue this until you've collected all the beanbags. Reset by placing all the beanbags back near the correct Stapelstein. This is a good exercise for balance and extra fun because of the music.

6. Find the correct Stapelstein
Spread the Stapelsteinen around the room. Place a basket with the bean bags in a central location. Now, as quickly as possible, one by one, bring the bean bags to the correct color Stapelstein.
Extra tip: place them far apart for extra movement.
Hopefully, this will inspire you to use Stapelstein in even more ways. Was this helpful? Share this blog with others so we can make even more people Stapelstein fans.
