From balloon to favorite toy: why a balloon cover is so much fun!

Sensory Balloon Ball with Balloon Cover for Toddlers

A balloon. Our children all play with them sometimes. Fun for a little while… until they quickly pop or break, and the fun is over. But what if I told you that a balloon with a balloon cover can transform into a sensory toy your child will return to again and again?

That's exactly why I designed the balloon cover . This simple cover transforms a balloon into a sensory toy that children will play with again and again.

This is a toy that lets your child discover things for themselves. No buttons. No rules. Just fun.

Sensory motor toy with a soft balloon ball

What is a sensory balloon ball?

The sensory balloon ball is actually very simple:

  • You slide an empty balloon into the balloon sleeve;
  • You blow it up;
  • And a soft, light balloon is created that invites you to move and explore.

What makes the balloon cover so special?

The balloon cover is made of seven different fabrics, each with its own texture. From smooth linen to soft ribbed fabric. The fabrics were carefully chosen to match the pastel or rainbow beanbags , making them a beautiful combination for the play corner.

Because each piece feels different, it automatically becomes a sensory-motor toy . Children feel, squeeze, roll, and explore without any explanation.

This is how you make the balloon ball even more fun

Sensory toys for toddlers (that grow with them)

This balloon ball is often used as a sensory toy for toddlers, but it remains interesting for years to come. It's a great toy for ages 1 to 9+.

  • For young children it's all about feeling, crawling/walking after it and learning to roll
  • Later on , throwing, aiming and making up games together arise.
  • And in the end they come up with their own rules (because it is also an open-ended toy )

Because the balloon ball moves slowly and hardly bounces, it is very nice for:

  • sensory toys 2 years;
  • children who are still discovering their motor skills;
  • Indoor action game, without the stress of anything falling over or breaking.

Why this is a truly open-ended toy

I really believe in the power of open-ended toys (or open-ended toys). Toys that don't dictate what they should be or how you play with them.

This balloon ball is a great example. It's not a toy with rules, but an invitation to get moving:

  • to roll;
  • to throw;
  • to catch; to catch
  • obstacle in a course;
  • for all kinds of active games.

The game changes naturally depending on your child's age, interests and imagination.
This means the toys stay interesting for longer and you get more use out of them, without having to keep buying new toys.

Open-ended toys: playing with a sensory balloon ball

Open-ended and sensory play with the balloon ball

What I often see at home is that the balloon ball automatically becomes part of other games.
Children come up with all kinds of games, combine it with other sensory toys and discover new play possibilities all the time.

Precisely because nothing is set in stone, there's room for individual play. And that's precisely why open-ended toys are so valuable.

Our toys are made sustainably and consciously

As you are used to from Little Botanic Label, this balloon cover is also:

  • Made from OEKO-TEX certified fabrics
  • Handmade in the Netherlands
  • Partly produced in collaboration with a day care center
  • Made to last

Each balloon comes with a biodegradable natural rubber balloon.
If the balloon needs replacing, you don't need to buy a new toy. A new balloon is sufficient. You can also find refill packs of natural rubber balloons in the webshop.

Less toys, more fun. That remains my mission. And our sensory balloon fits perfectly with that.
